DRAFT v0.1 — pending CERO + legal review. This content is not yet the final binding text. Do not rely on it for legal decisions. The final version will be published before Salt & Pepper goes live on 1 October 2026.
By using Salt & Pepper ("S&P", "we", "us", "the platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Read them carefully.
1. Acceptance & eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts under Indian law.
By creating an account or making a booking, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you accept these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, do not use the platform.
2. What S&P provides
S&P is a marketplace connecting event organisers with catering, venue, and event-service providers. We facilitate bookings, contracts, payments, and event coordination through the S&P app and platform. S&P operates managed kitchens directly for catering services and aggregates third-party venue and ancillary service providers.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your profile.
You are responsible for keeping your phone number, OTP codes, and device secure. Any booking made from your account is treated as authorised by you.
You may delete your account at any time via Profile › Delete account. Deletion is subject to a 30-day grace period during which you can recover the account; active orders block deletion until they are completed or cancelled.
4. Bookings & payments
A booking is confirmed when you accept the contract and pay the advance.
Payment schedule: 25% advance at booking, 50% milestone 15 days before the event, 25% balance 48 hours before the event. (Per S&P payment policy PR-003.)
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store full card numbers; refer to Razorpay's terms for payment-method specifics.
Prices shown include applicable GST unless stated otherwise.
S&P reserves the right to cancel a booking if any scheduled payment is not received by its due date.
5. Cancellation & refunds
Single-order cancellation (days before event):
7 days or more — full refund of amounts paid.
3 to 6 days — 50% refund.
Less than 3 days — no refund.
Package cancellation (multiple services bundled):
30+ days — 100% refund.
15 to 29 days — 50% refund.
7 to 14 days — 25% refund.
Less than 7 days — no refund.
Refunds are processed via Razorpay to the original payment method within 5–7 business days of approval.
6. Your obligations
Provide accurate event details — date, guest count, venue, dietary requirements, special requests.
Notify S&P promptly of any change in guest count or scope. Changes after a contract is signed may incur additional cost via a Change Order.
Use the platform lawfully — no fraudulent bookings, no harassment of suppliers or S&P staff, no attempts to circumvent the platform to deal directly with suppliers in violation of supplier agreements.
7. S&P's obligations
Deliver the contracted service to HACCP food-safety standards.
Maintain venue and catering quality reasonable for the tier booked (Institutional / Standard / Premium).
Provide a designated Event Manager / Relationship Manager and (for Standard / Premium tiers) a Venue Manager on the day of the event.
Address complaints within 7 days of the event (post-event window).
8. Third-party services
The platform integrates third-party services that have their own terms:
AWS — hosting and storage; all data resides in India (Hyderabad / Mumbai).
S&P is not responsible for outages or failures of these third-party services beyond reasonable diligence in our integration.
9. Venue and supplier partnerships
S&P is the contracting party for your booking. Venue owners and ancillary suppliers (decoration, photography, etc.) are independent providers operating under separate agreements with S&P. Disputes arising from supplier performance are handled by S&P on your behalf.
10. Intellectual property
The S&P brand, app, content, and platform technology are owned by Salt & Pepper Foods Pvt Ltd. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute them. User-generated content (reviews, photos uploaded to album features) remains yours, but you grant S&P a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display and use it on the platform.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, S&P's total liability for any single booking is limited to the amount paid for that booking. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or reputational harm.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g. liability for fraud or gross negligence).
12. Force majeure
S&P is not liable for delays or failure to perform due to events outside our reasonable control — natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, large-scale infrastructure outages, civil unrest, etc. In such cases, we will work with you in good faith to reschedule or refund.
13. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Guwahati, Assam. The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute amicably through good-faith discussion before commencing legal proceedings.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be surfaced in the app at next sign-in with a prompt to re-accept. Continued use after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
